& WHAT CAN I EXPECT
QUESTIONS
Creating a Long-Form Legacy Video is a commitment, and it all starts with our easy online onboarding. Through our dedicated client portal, you'll answer questions about your life, family, career, and the topics you'd like to cover. You’ll also provide details about any media you’d like to include—such as 8mm film, VHS, digital video, slides, or photographs—at your own pace.
Pre-Production Process
Once onboarding is complete, we’ll review your information and schedule a Zoom meeting to discuss your vision. We'll plan shoot dates, finalize ideas, and arrange media collection. Don't worry—it’s an enjoyable and straightforward process!
Production Process
When it’s time to film, our small, discreet team (Ryan and Laura) arrives on location to keep things personal and comfortable.
A typical shoot day follows this schedule:
8:00–10:00 AM: Setup and interview prep
10:00 AM–12:00PM: Interview session
12:00–1:00 PM: Lunch break
1:00–3:00 PM: Continued interviews
3:00–4:00 PM: Wrap-up and breakdown
Interviews typically take 2 days but may go longer depending on the options you want. After interviews are concluded we shoot what is known as B-Roll. This is supporting video that is used to help tell your story, this could include a walk down your childhood street, or a shot of you enjoying your favorite pass time. B-Roll often takes 2 days to complete and again could run longer or shorter depending on your options and if you need to be present during the recording of B-Roll.
Post-Production Process
This is where the magic happens. Our editing process takes 4–8 weeks, depending on the amount of footage and media involved. Once complete, you'll receive a digital download link for easy sharing, along with a Blu-ray and a master file on a thumb drive for archival purposes.
That’s completely normal! Our team is patient, supportive, and experienced in making people feel comfortable. If you stumble over your words, we can always pause and try again—there’s no pressure. We guide you through the process, making it feel more like a relaxed conversation than a formal interview. Many of our clients start off nervous but quickly find themselves enjoying the experience. Once you begin sharing your stories, you might even forget the camera is there!
We collaborate with you and your family to understand the key moments and themes of your story. Based on this, we carefully curate questions that feel natural and meaningful, ensuring they help bring out your memories and personality. Our goal is to guide the conversation in a way that feels comfortable while capturing the essence of your journey.
We’ll ask you to gather photos, videos, and documents that relate to your story. You can easily upload them to us through our secure client portal. If you have physical media like film or printed photos, we can guide you on how to digitize them yourself or arrange for safe delivery to us. There is an additional fee for us to handle your media for you. Please call for details.
We understand and are experienced in working with individuals facing memory challenges. We take a gentle, flexible approach, adjusting the pace as needed. If they feel overwhelmed, we’ll pause, take breaks, or guide the conversation in a way that feels natural. We also use prompts like photos, music, or familiar objects to help spark memories. Our priority is creating a calm, supportive environment where they can share at their own pace.
Yes, we are available to travel worldwide. For productions that are longer than one day or located more than 90 minutes from us, travel is required. Travel costs will be estimated and provided to you before your onboarding session.
We understand that budget is an important consideration, and we don’t want that to prevent you from telling your story. We offer flexible options such as interview-only sessions with no editing or shorter, more affordable packages. Our short-form, fully edited packages start at $3,000. For those on a budget, we recommend using our short-form services to capture your story in a shorter length or even to tell your story one chapter at a time over a period of time. We realize everyone’s story is different and has different requirements. Let us customize a package that works best for you.
To reserve your spot, you'll first need to complete our onboarding session. After approving the budget, a 50% deposit of the total package price is required. If travel is required, travel costs will be added to the base deposit. Upon arrival at your location, an additional 25% is due, with the remaining balance due once the edit is complete. We accept all major credit or debt cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Play.
We have access to literally thousands of music tracks, background music, and more, all included at no extra cost. These tracks come with a full license for use on any social media platform or website.
Yes, you can use music by your favorite artist. However, keep in mind that social media platforms have filters that automatically scan for copyrighted content and could result in a take down request and/or your ability to use your account, therefore choosing to use copy written music is done so at your own risk. We do not recommend using copyrighted material if you plan to host your video online and we accept no responsibility for this option.
